Sales and temperatures soared, world records were broken and Blenheim was buzzing as a near record crowd of 148,500 people flocked into The CLA Game Fair at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, over the course of the weekend.
The figure is the second highest attendance at The Game Fair in its 53-year history – beaten only by the 50thanniversary Game Fair also held at Blenheim in 2008.
A key factor was the new traffic management system which saw problem-free access to car parks on the 700 acre show site for all three days.
With temperatures hovering in the mid 20’s, exhibitors reported bumper sales. There were, said Game Fair local committee chairman, Julian Sayers, a lot of very happy people on site.
“Visitors have had a fantastic experience, exhibitors are delighted – quite simply, the event has been great news for everybody involved,” he said.
As the World's Leading Country Sport Event the show hosts the UK's biggest and best shooting and fishing shows as well as the most comprehensive gundog and falconry exhibitions alongside every other aspect of countryside activities and interests such as ferreting, gamekeeping, Estate Management, Forestry and Woodland, hounds and hunting.
Under the banner of the National Countryside Show, visitors will also enjoy the food, gardening, conservation and nature, food and cookery demonstrations, 4 x 4 driving, and many family orientated features included in areas such as Active Countryside for All where quad biking, mountain boarding, aerial trekking, laser combat and many other fun activities can be enjoyed.
