Exploring Nature

The UK is home to some of the most beautiful countryside.  Due to the hugely diverse and varied habitats that are present however, it is fairly difficult to maintain the balance of nature.

We are lucky to have an enormous range of volunteer groups and associations who not only work hard to conserve a wide variety of species, but also offer education opportunities to achieve public appreciation of the local environment.

The Exploring Nature feature showcases some of these important organisations.

Stonefield Owl Rescue

Stonefield Owl Rescue is dedicated to rescuing injured and sick owls.  Their experts are on hand to explain their habitats and feeding patterns, and there are photo opportunities with these beautiful birds for a small donation.  For more information, visit www.chrissieowls.com

Daphne Neville Otters

Daphne is demonstrating how these enchanting creatures are returning to our streams and countryside.  Meet Daphne’s otters first hand and learn all about their habitats, feeding habits and more.  For more information, visit www.sophieneville/BEENIE

Countryside Foundation for Education

The mission of the CFE is to educate, inform and inspire children, teachers and parents, so that they can enjoy and appreciate the countryside while having a greater understanding of the wide range of issues surrounding it.  They are providing an array of creative activities for children that will build on what they have learnt within this feature.  For more information, visit www.countrysidefoundation.org.uk
