The information below is for The CLA Game Fair 2010
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the CLA Game Fair chosen charities of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Dogs for the Disabled during the three days at Ragley Hall.
Each year The CLA Game Fair supports a number of chosen charities to benefit from various events taking place at the show. This year the joint nominated charities are Dogs for the Disabled and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Both charities train dogs to help children and adults with disabilities to live more independently.
Visitors to The Game Fair will have the unique opportunity to support the work of these two closely linked charities that are helping to change the lives of nearly 1,000 people in the UK.
See them on stands M1007 & M1009 near the working dog ring.
As well as demonstrations taking place in the main arena and working dog ring, to showcase the fantastic work that both charities do, activities include:

A Hearing Dogs Walkathon
To see how far you’ve walked during your visit to the Game Fair. Simply buy a pedometer and then check your distance at the end of the day, emailing your distance to the Hearing Dogs team - with the site this year covering over 500 acres you might be amazed to learn the distance you have covered. You keep the pedometer to help monitor your progress and to see if you can reach the recommended 10,000 steps a day.
Dogs for the Disabled
Dogs for the Disabled is a life-transforming charity, offering freedom and independence through partnership between people living with disability and specially trained assistance dogs. The dogs can offer practical support with tasks that many of us take for granted, for example, opening and closing doors, helping people undress, and even emptying the washing machine. They can help children with physical disabilities with daily physiotherapy routines, and provide a calming focus for a child with autism, allowing the whole family to take part in a wider range of every day activities.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
A hearing dog changes a deaf person’s life on many levels. Deafness can be a very isolating and lonely disability; a hearing dog can offer a practical alternative to technical equipment – particularly for those deaf people who find such equipment restricting – with the added benefit of giving the recipient increased independence, greater confidence, companionship and a feeling of security.
