Family Dogs

The Kennel Club stand provides an informative, lively and entertaining stand for all dog owners and enthusiasts. The Kennel Club Dog Ring gives dog owners the opportunity to participate in a number of friendly fun competitions.

Visitors are welcome to visit the Kennel Club stand to talk to experts on all matters regarding buying, breeding and caring for dogs. Visitors can then be directed to the stands of other specific organisations in the dog world or other experts around the Gundog area.

The Kennel Club Dog Ring gives dog owners the opportunity to participate in various fun activities and watch fun displays.

Jim and Georgina Chattaway with their daughters and friends from Leicestershire demonstrating with their Labrador Retrievers that age is no barrier to good dog handling in the world of working gundogs.
11.30 Adem Fehmi, B.Sc., Animal Behavourist
"Dog Behavioural Advice and Training Tips"
Adem will be able to answer any questions you may wish to ask about your dog's behaviour and give on the spot advice - bring your dog with you if possible!
12.30 Adrian and Caroline Slater - Working Gundog Demonstration
Adrian Slater, the very experienced Spaniel and Retriever handler from Lancashire, and his wife, with a lively and entertaining demonstration of the work required of Spaniels and Retrievers in the shooting field. Adrian also invites your questions on gundog training.
1.30 Gareth Langdon Animal Nutritionalist
Question and Answer Session on animal health and nutrition
Gareth will also be available throughout the day on the Kennel Club Stand for individual consultations.

'Start working with your dog'
This area will be adjacent to the Family Dog Ring and will provide a specific point for dog owners to find out more about working dog activities and the different associated activities.

Gundog Training
This is the place for guidance on gundog training for novice and young gundog handlers. Experts will be available with their own dogs and youngsters are encouraged to bring along their gundogs to gain help and advice. All breeds are welcome.

Newcomers - Have a Go
Anyone who is interested in learning the proper way to throw a dummy and encourage a dog to retrieve it can learn the basics here. There will be dogs available for specialist instruction for anyone to have a go and get a feel for the sport.

Dog Health Centre
Throughout The Game Fair animal behaviourists, nutritionists and other experts will be on the kennel club stand to answer any queries that dog owners may have on behavioural or health/nutritional problems and for advice on specialist canine diets from a qualified veterianary nutritionalist.
