To celebrate The CLA Game Fair’s 50th anniversary a beautifully researched and produced book has been published.
The CLA Game Fair began life with an informal conversation between two game-rearing specialists more than half a century ago. Today it has metamorphosed into an operation so complex, so sophisticated and so professional that those original founders would scarcely recognise it. Beneath the surface though, the same fundamental driving forces; the fellowship, the sense of community and the deep love of country activities that was the catalyst behind the first Game Fair in 1958 are still there.
The book delves through the highs and lows of the 50 shows interweaved with anecdotes, news headlines of the time and timelines of what was happening with country sports and the countryside over the 50 years.
Commissioned by The CLA Game Fair the book has been researched and written by Chris Newton and Tony Jackson.
The Medlar Press has had an association with The CLA Game Fair for over ten years and is delighted to be the publishers of this book to mark the history of what is now the world’s biggest country sport and countryside event.
